TRAVEL: My Holiday Series - Day 2

On the second day we decided to try out driving in a European car; (left side drive and left side of the road). It was my first time and I was a little apprehensive at first but it really wasn't that bad!

I drove us both to Cerza which is a zoo in Hermival-les-Vaux which looks after animals that may be endangered or are a protected species.

There are 2 different circuits to choose from that take you around the zoo. The yellow circuit takes you via the wolves, kangaroos & bears and the red circuit guides you via the African Plains. There is also the Safari Train that takes you through part of both circuits and also to animals that you may not necessarily see on the red circuit. The Safari Train also takes you to see animals that you would normally see on safari such as zebras and giraffes!

We spent most of the day at the zoo and it was an excellent day! We saw so many different animals from around the world and we even got to feed some goats in the petting farm.

I would definitely recommend visiting this zoo if you are ever in Normandy.
Which zoos have you been to?

Until next time, xo.

TRAVEL: My Holiday Series - Day 1

The first day of a holiday is always exciting yet tiring. You're excited to be in a different country and explore, but you are so tired from all the travelling; no matter how far away you go.

My journey was only an hour but I was awake from 4am to get ready for the airport. When we arrived at the airport we checked in and went through security; then we went to find food! Being lactose intolerant I am limited to what I can eat from food outlets as most places have food items that contain dairy. However, my saving grace comes in the form of Pret a Manger. My boyfriend found a bacon and egg baguette that didn't have any milk or butter in!

The flight itself was interesting. We had to switch planes because the original plane had problems with the brakes - eek! I was glad to switch but it meant that we had an hour delay already! Our landing wasn't very smooth either and as we hit the runway many passengers let out a little scream.

When we arrived at my Grandad's house we had something to eat and a little chat before heading to the supermarket to stock up on food for the week. We decided that although we were on holiday we would still try and eat healthy and we would prepare all our meals from scratch.

Being in France we had to celebrate our arrival by opening a bottle of champagne and having an aperitif. This was lovely because we could relax and have a chitchat altogether before sitting down for dinner.

Day 1 was more of a relaxing day than an exploration one. But we did have time to plan the rest of the days which was great because then we knew what we could and couldn't fit in.

I hope you enjoy the next few days of the Holiday Series!

Until next time, xo.

TRAVEL: My Holiday Blog Series

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry there haven't been any posts in a while. I had a hectic 2 weeks at work and I was straight off on holiday!
So, I have decided that I am going to start a travel series of my holiday and do a post a day telling you about my holiday; what I did and where I was!

I was away for 10 days and tried to explore as much of the area as possible. Whilst I was on holiday I also took my workout gear so I didn't 'let myself go' and could keep fit and healthy whilst away; so I will tell you about the running routes I took and show you just how beautiful it was.

The Basics

We flew with Ryanair from London Stansted to Deauville (France) which only took an hour and we took a large suitcase between the two of us as well as our hand luggage. Being the indecisive girl that I am, I had a suitcase as hand luggage as well as my handbag just so I knew I had a large variety of outfits to choose from.

We stayed in my Grandad's house which is situated in the middle of a wonderful, picturesque countryside landscape. It was the perfect countryside getaway.

In the coming days you will read about all my experiences and hopefully get a few ideas for the future!

Where have you been on holiday?

Until then, xo.

BEAUTY: August Birchbox Review

Hello :)

I have been a Birchbox subscriber for over 2 years and I've decided that from now on I am going to share with you what I get each month.
We can then compare and see what other products they gave out this month!

I like that Birchbox come up with innovative ideas instead of the usual box format. This month was in a Scuba Birchbag and mine was in the colour Yellowtail. It's such a fun idea and I love that they are in neon colours; it matches the summer season so well.

The products I received were:
1) The Marcelle waterproof eyeliner in Expresso.
I chose the brown colour as I tend to wear a nude eye or soft brown shades so I thought it would compliment it well. It's great to use in the summer months too because it is waterproof so it wont budge! It is so easy to apply and you can even blend it to create a smokey look.

2) A Philip Kingsley dry shampoo.
I am a HUGE fan of dry shampoos and I am always willing to try new ones on the market. It smells delicious and it isn't 'powdery' - it doesn't leave a white residue either which is fab news for us brunettes!

3) amie Morning Dew Matte Finish Moisturiser.
As a girl with an oily t-zone I adore products that have a matte finish. It means I don't walk around looking like a sweaty mess!
It doesn't really have a scent which is good because I don't love having a florally scenting face for the day. Once applied it doesn't leave my skin feeling taut or sticky which means you can go straight in with your foundation and/or concealer!

4) anatomicals citrus body scrub.
I was super excited when I saw this in my bag! I love exfoliating and keeping my skin looking fresh all year round; and now it smells fresh too! The citrus smell wakes you up in the morning and a little product goes a looooong way!

5) Merci Handy.
This hand sanitiser is amazing! It doesn't have that alcohol smell to it. These merci gels have different scents and I got the 'New Wave'. It smells clean and very summery. It's in a 30ml bottle which makes it perfect for even the smallest of handbags!

6) English Laundry 'Notting Hill' perfume.
I love the sample perfumes Birchbox send out because they are great for a night out; you can keep it in your handbag or clutch for top ups throughout the night! It smells fruity with a hint of floral and again, is very summery. I probably wouldn't buy a full size version as it isn't my preferred scent but it's great for a one time spray!

What did you all receive?! Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, xo.
