TRAVEL: My Holiday Series - Day 2

On the second day we decided to try out driving in a European car; (left side drive and left side of the road). It was my first time and I was a little apprehensive at first but it really wasn't that bad!

I drove us both to Cerza which is a zoo in Hermival-les-Vaux which looks after animals that may be endangered or are a protected species.

There are 2 different circuits to choose from that take you around the zoo. The yellow circuit takes you via the wolves, kangaroos & bears and the red circuit guides you via the African Plains. There is also the Safari Train that takes you through part of both circuits and also to animals that you may not necessarily see on the red circuit. The Safari Train also takes you to see animals that you would normally see on safari such as zebras and giraffes!

We spent most of the day at the zoo and it was an excellent day! We saw so many different animals from around the world and we even got to feed some goats in the petting farm.

I would definitely recommend visiting this zoo if you are ever in Normandy.
Which zoos have you been to?

Until next time, xo.

TRAVEL: My Holiday Blog Series

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry there haven't been any posts in a while. I had a hectic 2 weeks at work and I was straight off on holiday!
So, I have decided that I am going to start a travel series of my holiday and do a post a day telling you about my holiday; what I did and where I was!

I was away for 10 days and tried to explore as much of the area as possible. Whilst I was on holiday I also took my workout gear so I didn't 'let myself go' and could keep fit and healthy whilst away; so I will tell you about the running routes I took and show you just how beautiful it was.

The Basics

We flew with Ryanair from London Stansted to Deauville (France) which only took an hour and we took a large suitcase between the two of us as well as our hand luggage. Being the indecisive girl that I am, I had a suitcase as hand luggage as well as my handbag just so I knew I had a large variety of outfits to choose from.

We stayed in my Grandad's house which is situated in the middle of a wonderful, picturesque countryside landscape. It was the perfect countryside getaway.

In the coming days you will read about all my experiences and hopefully get a few ideas for the future!

Where have you been on holiday?

Until then, xo.

BEAUTY: My Current Tanning Routine

My Current Tanning Routine

As summer approaches, we all want that sunkissed look to make us feel like a goddess! Some people want to have a golden glow before going on holiday so we aren't the palest person by the pool or at the beach.

There are various methods to get the bronzed skin tone and the safest is fake tan. Many brands have come out with their own line of fake tan and I have tried and tested most of them!

My current routine involves two brands: L'Oréal and Bondi Sands.

For my face I use the L'Oréal sublime bronze, express pro, spray. It is best used after cleansing your face and before applying moisturiser. You can apply either before bed or when you wake up. I like to do it before I sleep so that it has 8 hours to develop and I'm not sweating or touching my face. It gives you a natural looking glow and doesn't have the normal fake tan odour.

For my body, I use the Bondi Sands liquid gold tanning oil. Before I apply the oil I exfoliate and mooisturize. The tanning oil is lovely to apply and there is a guide colour so that you can see exactly where you have applied the tan. It smells like coconut when you apply but it does then have the biscuit smell after a while. You can put your clothes on right after application and get on with your day which I really like.

My Top tips for tanning:

  1. Exfoliate
  2. Moisturise any dry areas of skin (knees, elbows etc.)
  3. Wait 30 minutes for moisturiser to dry
  4. Apply tan with a mitt
  5. Moisturise every day to keep tan in tact
  6. Once tan starts to fade, repeat!
I hope that this post inspires you to try new tans and feel like a golden goddess!!

Until next time, xo.

BEAUTY: Hair Care ready for Summer

We may only be in Spring here in the UK but when the sun is shining it gets me so excited for the Summer!!

There are so many different things that remind me of summer or bring back memories from last summer. Whether that's sun lotion, ice cream, a candle scent or even a song!
This morning, in the shower, I tried the Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner in the scent: Sun Kissed Raspberry.

OH. MY. GOD!

If you ever need a hint of summer in the shower to get you excited, you NEED to try this shampoo and conditioner. It has a sweet scent that definitely reminds me of summertime, being in the sun and eating fresh fruit.

What makes these products GREAT is that they are Paraben free, Silicone free, Colourant free and the packaging is fully recyclable as it's made from 25% recycled plastic!!

If you want to have fresh, beautiful smelling hair that makes you think of the sun, then I would definitely recommend these products. It is also so moisturizing - day 2 and my hair doesn't look or feel greasy!

My haircare routine
I tend to wash my hair every other day so that the natural oils aren't completely stripped. In between washes, if my hair looks oily then I use dry shampoo to freshen it up. I also do a hair mask once a week or fortnight just to ensure I am keeping my head and hair hydrated!!
I will be writing a post just about my hair care routine with all the products that I use, including photos! :)

What products do you use for your hair that remind you of summer?

Until next time, xo.
